Auditions: Children of Eden
The Players Club of Swarthmore will be holding auditions for Children of Eden on November 28, 2011. 6:30 pm for young performers, 7:00 pm for adults.

The Director is putting together a multi-cultural cast of energetic performers! We are looking for 20-30 adult performers, as well as 10-16 young performers who are interested in challenging singing, up tempo dancing, and of course, delivering a beautiful message about family, love, and community!
For auditions, please prepare 16-24 bars of music of your choice. You may bring CD tracks to sing to, or sing with our accompanist. You certainly may sing from the show. Additionally, you will be asked to “move” so wear comfortable clothing and foot wear!
Children of Eden is loosely based on the Book of Genesis and tells the story from the Creation until right after the Great Flood (Noah’s Ark). At many times throughout the show, the age-old conflict between parents and children is examined.
CHARACTERS and VOCAL RANGES
Father – Baritone. Father to everyone! The only character that remains the same through two Acts!
Adam – Tenor. Rational; needs to emotionally mature during the show.
Eve – Soprano. Feisty; needs to emotionally mature during the show.
Cain – Tenor. Disobedient; rebellious.
Abel – Tenor or Baritone. Well-behaved.
Young Cain – Tenor.
Young Abel – Tenor.
Snake – Various voice parts. 5 cast members in 5 part harmony! Seductive and need to be able to “move” well.
Noah – Tenor. Fatherly; confused and conflicted.
Mama Noah – Soprano. Level-headed.
Japeth – Tenor. Noah’s son; in love with Yonah.
Yonah – Alto or Soprano. In love with Japeth.
Ham – Tenor or Baritone. Noah’s son.
Shem – Tenor or Baritone. Noah’s son.
Aysha – Alto or Soprano. Wife of Ham.
Aphra – Alto or Soprano. Wife of Shem.
Storytellers – all ages and vocal types – also serve as animals, trees, and flowers.
Children – all ages and vocal types – also serve as animals.
